 The Pittsburgh
Company, original developers of Ellwood City, established offices at
835 Lawrence Avenue (presently Ellwood City Ledger) in 1892.
In addition to Real Estate development, they owned the First
National Bank, the local water company, the power company and
insurance agency.
in 1933 Mr. Ray Aylesworth, an employee of the company, was
appointed receiver for the Pittsburgh company. In 1963 Robert
W. Powell, an associate, purchased the Agency from Mr.. Aylesworth,
and moved the Agency to its present location at 500 Crescent Avenue
in 1965. Mr. Powell's son, Zachery T. Powell, joined the
family Real Estate Business in 1979. As a father and son team
we are proud of the firms connection with the community's past, and
look forward to serving its future.
